Federal Graduate/Professional PLUS Loan

The Federal Graduate/Professional PLUS Loan program is new for the 2006-07 academic year. This program enables graduate students to borrow up to the cost of attendance less other financial aid. This loan is available to students with a good credit history. To determine your loan eligibility, and application process, contact the financial aid office at your school.


Student Eligibility Requirements:
To obtain a Federal Graduate/Professional PLUS Loan, you must be enrolled in a graduate or post-bachelor, professional degree program. The following are reasons to choose California Bank and Trust as your Federal Graduate/Professional PLUS lender:

• Loans are available to any eligible student attending any eligible school approved by California Bank and Trust  

• No previous bank relationship is required  

• We will accommodate your personal situation whenever possible  

• Students can qualify to receive the following borrower benefits:
  0.25% interest rate reduction for automatic payments/ACH

When does repayment begin?
Repayment begins within 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed. You will receive notice of the terms and conditions for repayment of the loan before payments are scheduled to begin. You are responsible for paying the interest that accrues on the loan from the date of first disbursement. After repayment begins, deferments may be requested if certain eligibility requirements are met.
